A new study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that 1 in 13 pregnant women acknowledged drinking alcohol during their pregnancy. The results were taken from data from 2006-2010. Previous numbers measured between 1991-2005, showed 1 in 8 women admitted drinking while pregnant. This is a remarkable decrease.

However, the work of prevention is not yet over. Surprisingly the highest incidence of women drinking during pregnancy occurred for those 35-44 years-old rather compared to those 18-24 years-old. Other personal factors associated with those who drank during pregnancy included women who are unmarried and employed.
